NIN lanza “Ghosts I-IV” bajo Creative Commons
Ya veía venir algo así de parte de Trent Reznor, cuando comenzó el ARG previo al álbum Year Zero, dejando pendrives escondidos en los venues de sus conciertos, con temas del nuevo disco que aún no tenia fecha de release, además de haber dejado filtrar el disco en formato MP3 en el mismo site días antes del release oficial. Pero realmente me sorprendió que no pasó mucho tiempo (y sin publicidad de ningún tipo) para que lanzara su nuevo trabajo, un álbum instrumental llamado Ghosts(oficialmente el Halo 26),bajo la licencia Creative Commons(especificamente CC-by-nc-sa), hasta el torrent fue subido a ThePirateBay directamente por el!!, ’nuff said.
El álbum está dividido en 4 EP’s de 9 temas cada uno. Los tracks no tienen nombre concreto, pero si están identificados de la forma “N Ghosts NEP”, donde N es el numero de track, y NEP el EP al cual pertenece. Ghosts I-IV también está disponible en varios formatos, en FLAC , libre totalmente de DRM por 5$, un “Deluxe Edition package” por 75$ en Artist in Residence y los releases usuales en Vinilo. Vamos a ver de que forma compro el Deluxe edition, o como mínimo la versión FLAC, porque CADIVI no ayuda mucho últimamente 
.
El servidor está actualmente en servicios de mantenimiento, recibieron mas trafico del que esperaban, aún cuando no hicieron publicidad sobre el álbum, solo la frase “2 weeks” aparecía en el site principal.
Un modelo abierto igual al OpenSource aplicado a la musica? Perfecto!. Kudos for NIN.

We’re very proud to present a new collection of instrumental music, Ghosts I-IV. Almost two hours of music recorded over an intense ten week period last fall, Ghosts I-IV sprawls Nine Inch Nails across a variety of new terrain.
